BACK INTO LIFE

Sam Chaplin’s album Back into Life is a genre-hopping joy ride through jazz/soul to 80s pop to intimate piano work.

“The whole album is a journey back into my life - everything’s piled in: Maroon 5, Duran Duran, Rufus Wainwright- it’s all in there. These are songs I’ve written over a period spanning 20 years - from a sense of spinning out of control, to finding love, to being overwhelmed with joy with children - for me it’s all about connecting - through the stories, the lyrics, the twists in the melodies. The album is a kind of invitation too at the end of the pandemic, however nervously, to jump back into life.”

The album was mostly recorded at WWWSTUDIOS in November 2019 and then finished off under duvets in homes during 2020! Working closely with producer Dan Weeks and released in November 2021.
